A walk in the heart of the Bibémus estate and the Parc départemental des Roques-Hautes, in the footsteps of the painter Paul Cézanne between Aix-en-Provence and Le Tholonet.
Come and follow the paths that the painter took to find the inspiration for his pictorial representation of Provençal nature. The walk will take you on a journey of discovery of the flora and fauna, and if the season is right, your guide will let you taste the fruits of the plants that are the botanical treasures of the garrigue.
We'll then set off on a walk through the pine and oak forests to a crossroads. We'll head east along natural cliff-side balconies, admiring the landscapes that so inspired the painter Cézanne. Then we'll head to the yellow ochre of the Carrières de Bibémus to talk about painting and history. At the end of the tour, hidden away in the pine forest, we'll comment on the reproductions of Cézanne's paintings placed in the very places where he painted on the motif.
The outing includes historical and geological commentaries to help you discover and identify the Mediterranean ecosystem and learn more about the formation of the Sainte Victoire, a limestone mountain range emblematic of Provence.
