Day 1: Batumi - Ushguli - Lamaria Church - Shkhara Glacier - Mestia
Your adventure begins as your guide picks you up from your Batumi hotel early in the morning. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Batumi-Lentekhi-Ushguli road, learning about Svaneti’s rich culture and traditions. Arrive in Ushguli, a village perched at 2100 meters above sea level, and visit the 9th-century Lamaria Church, offering breathtaking views of Mount Shkhara (5193m).

From there, a 4x4 vehicle will take you partway to the Shkhara Glacier. Enjoy a short hike (approximately 4 km, 1.5–2 hours round trip) to see this natural wonder up close. Alternatively, opt for horseback riding on this route. After your hike, take in panoramic views of Ushguli from the King Tamar Castle viewpoint. In the evening, travel to Mestia, where you’ll check in at your hotel and relax.

Day 2: Mestia - Hatsvali Lift - Mestia Museum - Enguri Dam - Batumi
Begin your day with a leisurely walk through Mestia’s charming old town, famous for its medieval Svan defense towers. If you’re feeling adventurous, climb one for a unique perspective. Next, take the Hatsvali ski lift for stunning panoramic views of the Caucasus Mountains.

Afterward, visit the Svaneti Museum of History to explore its fascinating artifacts, which were safeguarded during Georgia’s turbulent history. Following lunch, depart Mestia and enjoy a scenic drive back to Batumi, stopping to admire the impressive Enguri Dam along the way. Return to Batumi in the evening, concluding your journey.
