Mauritius: Le Morne Mountain Private Sunrise Group Hike

Feel mesmerised by the magic and wonders of Le Morne Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage with a Passionate Local Guide for an insightful & unforgettable trekking experience.
Location: Le Morne Brabant Mountain.
Tour Type: Daily sunrise (All year round) or afternoon (In Winter Only) Hikes.
Enjoy Sunrise from the Top of the mountain.
Hike Duration: 4 hours.
• 2 hours up with multiple rests.
• Section 1: Cardio-focused, steady climb, distance and gradient incline 260 meters above sea level.
• Rest mid-point with a brief explanation of the History of Le Morne Brabant & Slavery.
• Section 2: Scrambling, 69 meters using hands and feet, 3 points of contact, then back to a steady climb to the summit of 473 meters above sea level.
• 20 mins at the summit to enjoy the breath-taking panoramic views.
• 1.5 hours down with multiple rests with explanation of exotic/endemic species.
Group Size: Small Intimate Private Group of family & friends 2-8 max.
Meeting Location: At the front of Wapalapam Island Eatery.
Sunrise Hike- Meet up time 04:30 (All year round).
Afternoon Hike- Meet up time 13:00 (April-October only).
We shall then convoy to the foot of the mountain.
Difficulty: Intermediate - Some steep sections of the climb require the use of hands for a safe ascent.
Minimum Age Requirement: 12 years old.
Distance: 6 km.
Elevation Gain/Loss: 490 m.

Prerequisites: A good pair of shoes with a good grip, adequate comfortable clothing for hiking, 1-1.5L of water, sunscreen, a good level of fitness and cardio is needed, but you don’t have to be an expert hiker. Vanessa will guide you step by step along the way.
