We will take you on an adventure by driving a 4WD and walking to places that were once villages that were destroyed by the eruption. One of the places that will be visited is an object bunker
This 5-hour tour starts from your hotel pick-up, where you will be staying, to the 4WD base camp from the Yogyakarta area. The driver will need about 1 hour of travel time by vehicle. Upon arrival at the base camp, we will briefly explain the route and the visits to be made. This will only take about 5 minutes.
After that, the 4WD driver will begin your adventure in his 4WD, taking you to several places that were once beautiful villages, but have been destroyed by the heat of the lava and pyroclastic flows that penetrated every corner of the village.

Besides visiting villages that have been destroyed by hot clouds, this trip will also visit the lava flows from the Merapi crater, which have left volcanic materials that local residents use to make materials for building houses or other buildings.
And this material mining activity has become a business area for Merapi material mining entrepreneurs to sell to consumers who need Merapi material to build houses or offices.
Afterward, your driver will take you on your next journey to visit a bunker, a shelter used by local farmers during Merapi's eruption. This bunker is located in the last village, or the closest one, to the summit.
The bunker was built after a major eruption in 2006. However, it ultimately ceased to function as intended, as it was destroyed by volcanic material seeping through every crack in the structure.
On the other side of this adventure, you'll usually be offered a visit to the river on Mount Merapi just for fun. But this is only an option if you wish, and isn't the primary object. During the 1.5-hour adventure, a 4WD driver will take you back to base camp, and the Merapi adventure is over, allowing you to return to your hotel. The same driver who picked you up will also take you back to your hotel.
