Discover Kintsugi, one of Japan’s most meaningful traditional arts, through a hands-on cultural experience in Osaka.
Discover Kintsugi, one of Japan’s most meaningful traditional arts, through a hands-on cultural experience in Osaka.
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery while highlighting its cracks rather than hiding them. Begin by learning about its history and the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, which finds beauty in imperfection, change, and the passage of time.
With step-by-step guidance from your instructor, carefully join the broken pieces, apply the finishing materials, and decorate the repaired lines with a beautiful gold-colored finish. As the cracks become part of the design, see how a once-broken object can be transformed into something unique and meaningful.
No previous crafting experience is required. The workshop is beginner-friendly, and your instructor will guide you through each stage of the process and assist you whenever needed.
Enjoy a relaxing and creative break from sightseeing while connecting with Japanese culture in a personal way. At the end of the workshop, take home your completed Kintsugi piece as a meaningful souvenir and a lasting reminder of your time in Osaka.
