About Shiba Hills National Reserve:
Shimba Hills National Reserve is a small National Reserve in Kwale County 33 km south of Mombasa. The reserve still maintains undisturbed areas of coastal rainforest, woodland and grassland. It is referred to as the "Paradise of the Sable antelope". Shimba Hills also hosts the highest density of African elephants in Kenya. You will Marvel at various species of Flora and Fauna, including the Sable antelope, elephant shrew, bushy-tailed mongoose, and other small mammals like fruit bats. Other Animals you expect to see and learn about include: heartbeats, black and white monkeys, buffalos, giraffes, and impalas.

For bird lovers, you will experience a rich forest birdlife while the grasslands hold localized species such as red-necked-Spur fowl, Croaking Cisticola, and Zanzibar Red Bishop.

Detailed Itinerary
1: Booking.
Once you book this tour, we will reach you via WhatsApp or via the booking portal to confirm your booking and record any special request you may have.

2: Pick up.
You will be picked up from the doorstep of your accommodation in Diani. Since the pick-up will be early in the morning, and you may not have had a proper breakfast, we encourage you to ask your hotel to pack for you some snacks (Apple fruit, Banana, Fruit Juice, grapes, etc.) just in case your sugar levels go down during your game drive.

3. Drive to Shimba Hills.
Your journey takes approximately 50 Minutes. The guide will explain to you some interesting things along the way and their cultural significance to the local people. You will pass by some old shopping centers, villages, and hilly landscapes. The road is generally smooth and you do not need to worry about your safety.

4. Arrival and ticketing
You will have an easy arrival process, courtesy of booking this tour. Your guide will help you collect your tickets which are included in your tour with ease, avoiding some queues that are often seen during rush hours. You will then start your game drive.

5. Experience
Upon clearing with the ticket office. You will start with the game Driver. You will have a chance to see the browsers in their natural settings.

At 10:00, you will have your Sheldrick Falls. which is 5 km to and fro. You must be attached to the guide. You will have a chance to swim in the waterfalls or Bath in clear waters.

After the game drive, you will take part in a community-based ecotourism site run by Shifoga (https://shifoga.or.ke), outside the park. You will enjoy village excursions, butterfly conservation, a nature trail, cultural demos, etc.

At: 13:00, you will then go to Lunch either in Green Lodge (outside the park) or Shimba Lodge (outside the park) which is approximately (20 USD).
