Cruise Passenger: Magdalena Island (Penguins) January, February & March

Navigate through the Strait of Magellan to Los Pingüinos Natural Monument and get to know the southern fauna.
In the Magdalena Island Navigation, you will meet the Magellanic penguin, which measures between 50 and 70 cm, is an extraordinary swimmer and spends most of its life in the water. It can be found from Tierra del Fuego to the south of Brazil.

There are numerous colonies in Patagonia, among them the colony on Magdalena Island. There are more than 150,000 specimens of these friendly penguins that we will meet on our Magdalena Island Navigation excursion.

We will embark on a ferry, with a large upper deck for passengers, we will start the navigation to Magdalena Island to visit the Magellanic or Patagonian penguin.

For approximately two hours we will enjoy the scenery that will insert us in the Strait of Magellan until we reach Magdalena Island. Once we arrive at the dock of Magdalena Island, we will disembark and visit the penguin colony for about 1 hour. We will walk until we reach the old lighthouse, from where we will admire a spectacular view of the landscape.

After this, we embark again but this time to start the return trip to the Punta Arenas pier. Finally, passengers are transported to their hotel in the city, as long as they have purchased the Magdalena Island Navigation with transfer. The rest of the passengers are dropped off at the Tres Puentes Pier.

It is very important to keep in mind that this activity can be affected by weather conditions, so it is not advisable to choose the Magdalena Island Navigation for the last day of your visit to Patagonia, in order to reschedule the activity if the weather does not allow the departure of the boat.
