Take your place at a traditional loom and learn the techniques used by generations of Moroccan weavers. With step-by-step guidance from experienced artisans, you'll learn how to work the threads, make knots and begin creating your own design.
No previous experience is needed. The workshop is designed for beginners and takes place in a small group, giving you time to learn directly from the artisans while discovering the meanings, motifs and traditions behind Moroccan rug weaving.
The experience takes place inside the Maison Culturelle du Tapis, a museum dedicated to preserving and sharing Morocco's carpet heritage. Your workshop includes complimentary admission to the museum, where you can discover rugs and weaving traditions from different regions of Morocco.
After approximately 2 hours, leave with the mini rug you made yourself—a personal souvenir of your time in Marrakech.
