The real Transnistria: an Italian tour among Soviet symbols

An itinerary off the beaten track: between Bender and Tiraspol, discover the cities, symbols, and daily life of a Transnistria suspended in time.
We'll be leaving Chişinău at 8:30-9:00 AM

After a brief introduction to the day, we'll head off to Transnistria. During the trip, which lasts about an hour, I'll explain the history of Moldova and Transnistria, focusing on the events that led to the creation of this de facto state, which isn't recognized by the international community. Upon arrival, there's a walking tour of the cities of Bender and Tiraspol, during which you'll visit the main tourist attractions, along with some lesser-known places linked to Italy, either through history or interesting facts.
At the end of the city tours, you can choose one of the following two options, depending on your interests and the time available:
Bender Fortress (Tighina)
Bender Fortress, one of only two medieval fortresses in Moldova. The tour, led by me, gives you a better understanding of the region's historical dynamics in the context of the Ottoman and Tsarist Empires. Entrance ticket: 50 Transnistrian rubles (about 2.5 euros). Visit duration: 45-60 minutes
Abandoned school near Tiraspol
If you're into unusual places, you can visit an abandoned school just a few kilometers from Tiraspol. It's a little-known site, highly sought after by Italian tourists and generally only visited by small groups. Admission is 10 euros per person, payable to the caretaker. Minimum visit duration: 1 hour. The visit is completely up to you.

Lunch isn't included in the price. You can have lunch at the "URSS" winery in Bender, a place with a more casual atmosphere, or at the "Back in USSR" restaurant in Tiraspol, which is more elegant and has a traditional restaurant setting.
