Trip to Kawah Ijen from Bali OR Banyuwangi, easy to moderate hike up to summit where the mesmerizing panorama of the turquoise crater lake is await, it's also another sunrise spot in East Java.
Experience easy to moderate trekking on a 2700 meters high active volcano for couple hours. At the midnight for the blue flame, sunrise and exotic crater view. From the peak of Ijen can be seen also other peaks stands together make spectacular formation with the turquoise crater lake of Ijen as the center of the highlight.
The main highlight is Mt. Ijen Blue Flame:
Note: Since the tremors happened on July 13th 2024, visitors are currently restricted to approach the crater area due to safety reason. Blue flame can be spotted from 500 meters as the allowed distance ONLY IF its flame is big enough as well as the favorable weather.
Not only the nature things, this trekking will also show you the local's struggle. Seeing the local sulfur miner activity and learn about their story somehow will probably being an unforgettable experience for you.
Another 1.5hours of descending before arrive back at parking lot, it can be less if you are fast. Going back to your hotel after 15 minutes break in the cafetaria available at car parking area.
For those who back to Bali, will be transferred to Ketapang harbor, take ferry to Bali and car transport back to hotel in Bali. Estimated time arrive in Bali is around 4 PM.

Ijen Geopark is closed for visitor every first Friday in a month. If your visit take place in Friday at the first week of month and there is availability on that day, it supposed to be not available due to closure. We do our best to manage it, however we just anticipating unintended error from ourside.
