Leave the coach behind. Meet your guide at Amsterdam Centraal and travel by train and tram, tickets included, to Vermeer's Delft and royal The Hague, in a group of 12 at most.
Step off the train in Delft and you are in the city Vermeer painted. Canals lined with gabled houses, the leaning tower of the Old Church, and a market square framed by the Town Hall and the New Church. Your guide brings the Dutch Golden Age to life, from Delft Blue pottery to the old Dutch East India Company office.
Then the time is yours. Have lunch on the market square, or step inside the New Church to see the marble mausoleum of William of Orange, father of the Dutch nation. Generations of Dutch royals are buried beneath it.
In the early afternoon, a tram takes you to The Hague. Your guide walks you along the Hofvijver to the Binnenhof, where the Dutch government has met for centuries. Next come the Mauritshuis, the elegant Lange Voorhout and Noordeinde Palace, the King's working palace. Afterwards you have free time before the train back to Amsterdam.
Ever wondered why Amsterdam is the capital, yet the government sits in The Hague? And why the royals are buried in Delft? You'll leave knowing both answers.
Travel the way the Dutch do. Intercity trains run between Amsterdam, Delft and The Hague several times an hour. You ride them like a local, and your guide handles the tickets, platforms and connections. All train and tram tickets are included.

Royal Delft: a tuk-tuk takes you from the centre to the last Delftware factory still working since the 17th century (by bus from November to February). You explore the museum with an audio tour, watch a painter at work, and ride back to the centre.
Mauritshuis: your guide takes you inside to see Girl with a Pearl Earring, Rembrandt and the finest Dutch Golden Age paintings, explaining the stories behind them.

The tour includes several kilometres of walking, partly on cobblestones, plus station stairs.
Free time in Delft is for lunch (not included) and, if you like, a visit to the New Church with the mausoleum of William of Orange (entry not included).
The Royal Delft add-on includes the transfer by tuk-tuk, or by bus from November to February.
The tour runs in all weather, so bring a rain jacket.
Meet your guide in front of the main entrance of Amsterdam Centraal, on the city side (Stationsplein), facing the Damrak. Your guide is there 10 minutes before the start. From here you walk into the station together and take the train to Delft. Your guide has the train and tram tickets for the whole group. The tour ends back at Amsterdam Centraal.
