Experience the spectacular Lyngen Alps while driving a snowmobile in beautiful scenery at Camp Troll, where everything is inspired by trolls.
Based in Lyngen near Tromsø, visit Camp Troll and experience a day of exploration, excitement, and fun on a snowmobile safari. You can drive a snowmobile beneath giant mountains and learn how these spectacular summits inspired Norwegian Folklore.
Depart from Tromsø city center by bus which will take you to Breivikeidet where you’ll board the ferry as a foot passenger (included). Meet a representative on the other side at Svensby for further transport.
On arrival at base camp, meet your guide and listen as they detail practical instructions on how to handle a snowmobile. Watch a safety demonstration and then get changed before heading out.
Drive your snowmobile in pairs (one driver and one passenger) and get the opportunity to switch drivers at the halfway point. Travel deep into nature whilst exploring the mythical world of trolls on a scenic trail through the Lyngen Alps.
Enjoy time in the beautiful scenery and take pictures, keeping an eye out for the magical trolls you’ll be learning about. Later, head back to the base camp to enjoy a hot meal served around the fire before you depart.
With a full stomach, return to the ferry after your tour, where you will return to Tromsø.
Please note: Snowmobiles are shared (even if you make a booking as 1 guest).
There are two options for this tour, one with and one without transfers, make sure you select the correct one when making your booking.

Time: 8:35 AM
Location: INSIDE Prosteneset Bus and Boat Terminal, Samuel Arnesens Gate 5, 9008 Tromsø, Norway, GROUND FLOOR, Platform 2
Bus: The Arctic Route RED Bus departs promptly at 8:35 AM.
Arrival Recommendation: Please arrive at least 20 minutes early (by 8:15 AM) as it can be busy. The bus will not wait for late arrivals.
Journey Details:
The bus takes you to Breivikeidet, where you’ll board the 10:05 AM ferry as a foot passenger. At Svensby, Camp Troll Guides (wearing yellow vests with our logo) will meet you and transfer you to Camp Troll by minibus.
Important Notes: Locate the correct group at Svensby; we cannot be responsible if you join the wrong one. If you miss the bus, you must arrange transport to the ferry at your own expense.
You will retunf to Tromsø, arriving at approximately 4:30 PM.
