This nature sanctuary is considered the lung of the capital city, and is the only tropical forest located so close to a metropolitan area in all of Latin America. Despite its proximity to the city, the Park is home to a great deal of biodiversity: some 284 species of flora, including trees that reach up to 35 meters in height; 283 species of birds, 38 types of snakes, 20 amphibians and 45 mammals.
