Paracas & Ica: 2-Day Tour with Huacachina and Camel Ride

Discover the coastal landscapes and desert adventures of southern Peru on this 2-day, 1-night tour through Paracas, Ica, and Huacachina, including a boat trip to the Ballestas Islands, local wine and sweet tastings, optional dune buggy adventures at an additional cost, and a unique camel or dromedary experience.

Day 1: Ballestas Islands, wine tasting, and Huacachina Oasis

Your adventure begins with your arrival in Paracas at approximately 8:40 AM. Board a motorboat for a 2-hour excursion to the Ballestas Islands, where you can admire the famous Candelabra geoglyph and observe sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and a variety of seabirds in their natural habitat.

At around 11:00 AM, return to Paracas and enjoy a tasting of traditional Peruvian sweets, including chocotejas, cookies, and pecans. Continue to the Ica region at approximately 12:30 PM for lunch and a wine tasting at a local winery.

At around 2:40 PM, arrive at Huacachina Oasis, a picturesque lagoon surrounded by towering desert dunes. Learn about the legend of the oasis, enjoy free time for photos, and admire the desert scenery from the viewpoint. For an additional cost, you can experience an exciting dune buggy ride and try sandboarding on the sandy slopes. The activity typically lasts around one hour or longer.

After the day's activities, head to your selected hotel in Huacachina, where you can relax and enjoy your evening at leisure.

Day 2: Camel experience, desert fun, and return journey

Start your morning with breakfast at your hotel, if included in your accommodation. Then visit the Dromedarius center to meet camels and dromedaries and learn more about these fascinating animals. Explore the center's mini-zoo and enjoy the available activities.

Dress in Arabic-style robes and enjoy a camel or dromedary ride in a desert setting. You will also have time to take individual and group photos, including a printed souvenir photograph in A5 size.

Continue with free time to enjoy the swimming pool and water slides at the club, subject to the venue's access conditions. Lunch is not included, so you can plan your meal according to your preferences.

On the return journey, stop in Chincha for tastings of traditional wines, pisco, and regional sweets before continuing back to Lima. The expected departure from the area is around 6:30 PM, with arrival in Lima at approximately 9:00 PM, depending on traffic and travel conditions.

End of the tour: The activity concludes with your return to Lima.

Important information: The Ballestas Islands access tax is not included and costs approximately S/16 per person. Lunch, personal expenses, and optional dune activities are also excluded. During peak holiday periods, breakfast may be provided as a box lunch to help maintain the schedule; on other dates, a breakfast stop may be arranged.
