El Salvador, Cihuatán: Rum tasting, from sugar cane cultivation to the bottle El Salvador, Cihuatán: Rum tasting, from sugar cane to bottle

Exclusive trip to the Cihuatán Rum Distillery in the lush valley where sugarcane is grown. The art of the master rum maker, inspired by Mayan heritage, will delight your palate with a guided tasting.
Your experience begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in San Salvador and then heads north to the fertile Cihuatán Valley, a land guarded by the silhouette of the "Sleeping Woman" mountain. Upon arrival at the distillery, the air will envelop you with the sweet aroma of molasses and wood.
Accompanied by an expert guide, you'll set off on a walking tour to learn about the origins of this premium spirit. You'll learn how El Salvador's climate and volcanic soil create the perfect environment for sugarcane. You'll visit the fermentation and distillation area before entering the most sacred place on the estate: the aging cellar, where hundreds of oak barrels guard the rum as it patiently matures. Here, you'll discover how each bottle pays tribute to the cosmology and legends of the Mayan civilization.
The highlight of the tour takes place in the tasting room. You'll take part in a guided sensory tasting, learning to appreciate the complex profiles, aromas, and notes of the brand's most iconic expressions (such as Cihuatán Índigo or Cinabrio).
Before the return trip to San Salvador, you'll have time to visit the distillery's boutique to purchase limited-edition products, and you'll receive your souvenir bottle so you can continue to toast this adventure at home.
