Cusco-Puno: Uros Floating Islands: Culture Floating on Lake Titicaca

Discover Lake Titicaca and sail around the famous floating islands of Uros and Taquile. Enjoy a unique cultural experience with ancestral communities of the Peruvian highlands.
The sightseeing tour starts between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. You will then be transferred to the bus terminal to board the overnight tourist bus to the city of Puno.

The trip is made in a comfortable 160° reclining sleeper bus, ideal for resting during the night journey while crossing the Andean landscapes of southern Peru. The approximate departure time of the bus is 10:00 PM, and the journey takes about 7 hours.

Upon arrival in Puno, at approximately 5:00 AM, our staff will assist you at the land terminal and transfer you to a local hotel where you can rest briefly, use the facilities, and enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast before starting your experience on Lake Titicaca.

We will then be transported to the main cruise port of Puno to board the tourist boat bound for the famous Floating Islands of Uros.

While sailing on Lake Titicaca, you'll enjoy breathtaking landscapes of the Peruvian highlands, panoramic views of the world's highest navigable lake, and the chance to observe Andean birds and lake communities.

The first visit will be to the Floating Islands of Uros, one of the most fascinating cultures in Peru. These islands are built entirely of totora and continue to be inhabited by local families who maintain their ancestral customs, floating homes, and traditional boats made from this aquatic plant.

During the visit, local families will share their history, traditions, and way of life. You'll also have free time for photographs and shopping for handicrafts.

We will then continue sailing towards Taquile Island while you enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Titicaca.

In Taquile, you will walk along traditional trails, visit artisan markets, and learn about the famous textiles recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. You'll also spend time with local families and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the lake.

Afterwards, you'll enjoy a typical lunch prepared by local families while admiring the natural landscapes of Lake Titicaca.

Finally, we will begin the return journey to the cruise port of Puno.
At 9:00 PM, we will take a return bus from Puno to Cusco, with transportation to your respective hotel.
