Cajamarca: Guided city tour + pick up

Get to know the most emblematic places of the city, scene of the fall of the Inca Empire and witness of the capture of the Inca Atahualpa. Marvel at its baroque colonial buildings.
The tour begins with a comfortable pick up from your hotel in the center of the city, then we will embark on a peaceful pedestrian walk through the most emblematic places of the city, appreciating in detail each of the places.
Our first visit is to the Cathedral Church, characterized by its impressive facade carved by hand in volcanic rock, it is a fine and well achieved sample of baroque art, its interior is composed of three naves and the imposing main altar covered entirely with gold leaf;
Then we go to the Plaza de Armas, where the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro captured the Inca Atahualpa; we cross the Plaza de Armas and arrive at the Cuarto del Rescate, perfectly preserved, the only Inca remains that prevails as a symbol of the encounter of two cultures, archaeological vestige that according to the chronicles the Inca Atahualpa filled once with gold and twice with silver to get his freedom.
You will continue the visit to the San Francisco church (baroque construction); the Belen Monumental Complex, an architectural complex of baroque style that exhibits a profusion of polychrome reliefs here is the church of Belen and the Colonial Hospitals.
Finally we will ascend the Hill of Santa Apolonia, splendid natural viewpoint from where you can see the city and the valley, formerly known as Rumi Tiana or "Seat of Stone", is a strategic point to appreciate the city and the valley of Cajamarca. On the outskirts are some vestiges of pre-Hispanic constructions such as the so-called "Silla del Inca", formed by two blocks of stone that emerge from the same hill and that have been carefully carved to give them their current shape. Among the stairways and gardens, a chapel dedicated to the Virgin of Fatima stands out.
Our spectacular walk culminates in the Plaza de Armas of Cajamarca.
