From Ollantaytambo or Urubamba: Humantay Lake Hike

Embark on a guided hike to Humantay Lake from Ollantaytambo or Urubamba. Arrive early to enjoy the site before the crowds, and take in the stunning views of the Andean landscape.
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Ollantaytambo or Urubamba. Enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to the village of Mollepata, where you’ll stop for a delicious local breakfast to fuel up for the adventure ahead.

Continue your journey to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike. Begin your ascent toward Humantay Lake, guided at all times by your experienced tour guide. If needed, you’ll have the option to rent a horse from local residents to assist with the climb.

As you make your way up, witness stunning views of the Andean landscape, spot native wildlife and birds, and discover the rich biodiversity of the highlands. Arrive at Humantay Lake and take in the awe-inspiring beauty of its brilliant turquoise waters. Capture breathtaking photos and take part in a small coca leaf offering to honor the Apus (mountain spirits) and Pachamama (Mother Earth).

After a relaxing break, begin the return hike back to Soraypampa, where your private transport will be waiting. Return to Mollepata for a well-earned lunch and some time to unwind. Finally, head back to Ollantaytambo or Cusco, arriving at your hotel and end of the Humantay Lake Tour.
