Huchuy Qosqo Trek to Machu Picchu is a hike suitable for those people who want to enjoy the flora and fauna of the Peruvian Andes.
Day 1: Cusco – Tambomachay – Qoricocha Lake – Patabamba Community:
You will be picked up from the hotel in Cusco at 07:00 AM and then you will go to the Archaeological Center of Tambomachay and from this point you will begin a walk towards Huchuy Qosqo. They will climb for approximately 2 hours until they reach the first step, here they will have free time to observe the city of Cusco. Later you will descend into the valley to a small local town called Quesser Grande, then continue the hike to Lake Qoricocha.
At this point you will enjoy lunch. Then they will pass by the shore of the lake located in the area and from there they will walk for 2 more hours until they reach the community of Patabamba. Upon arrival they will be welcomed by the residents who will share their customs and a delicious dinner. You will spend a night in this cozy place under the stars.
Day 2: Patabamba – Huchuyqosqo – Lamay – Aguas Calientes:
After enjoying a tasty breakfast, you will begin your walk along a trail, passing through different places and small towns until you reach Pukamarca where you will enjoy lunch.
After this, they will begin a walk towards the Puma punku canyon, a word in Quechua that means “the door of the puma.” From here you will walk along an Inca trail that will take you to the Mysterious Inca Archaeological Site of Huchuy Qosqo, which means "Little Cusco." Here together with the guide you will explore all the incredible Inca constructions of Huchuy Qosqo such as: The Sacred Temples, The Inca Terraces that they used for agriculture.
After visiting this Inca site, you will hike downhill to the town of Lamay for 2 hours. Upon arrival in Lamay, you will board a tourist transportation that will take you to the Ollantaytambo train station. Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, you will take the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes (2 hours of travel). Upon arriving in Aguas Calientes, you will go to your corresponding hotel to spend the night.

Day 3: Machu Picchu Sanctuary Tour - Return to Cusco:
In the morning at the indicated time according to the guide, you will go to the bus station for a 30-minute trip to reach the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Finally you will enter the Citadel of Machu Picchu to begin the guided tour, the tour guide will give you a tour with its corresponding description of: the temple of the sun, the intiwatana, the sacred plaza, the temple of the 3 windows, the temple of the condor among others.
At the end of the visit to Machu Picchu, you will go to the bus that will return you to Aguas Calientes where you will have free time. At the indicated time, you will board the train that will take you back to the Ollantaytambo station. At this point, agency personnel will be waiting for you to be transferred to the city of Cusco by tourist transportation.
