Lima City Tour: local food, Pachacamac and the golden civilizations!

At 9:00 AM, we will begin our tour by picking you up at your accommodation or meeting point. Together with our expert local guide, we will head to Pachacamac, an archaeological site that was an important religious center during the Inca Empire. Here, we will explore the enormous adobe pyramids, the Inca Palace, the Inca roads and the Temple of the Sun. In addition, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean and the Andes, and learn about Inca innovations, such as their subway aqueducts. This tour is considered by scientists as an excellent introduction to the Inca culture before visiting Cusco and Machu Picchu, as it gives you a deep understanding of their traditions and philosophy.

At noon, we will take a break to enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Then, at 2:00 PM, we will continue our adventure in the Historic Center of Lima, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1991. We will start at the Plaza Mayor, where we will learn about the history of the city and enjoy the views of the Archbishop's Palace, the Municipality of Lima and the Cathedral. We will also visit the San Francisco Monastery and its subway catacombs, a fascinating tour that will allow you to learn more about Lima's colonial history.

Other highlights include the Plaza San Martin, the Santo Domingo Convent, the Train Station Palace, the historic Cordano Bar and the Camino de la Union. We will tour the Historic Rimac Bridge and admire the beautiful wooden balconies that adorn the city. Finally, at 5:30 PM, you will be dropped off back at your hotel.
