Explore the stunning scenery around our lagoons and dive deep into Pico's mysterious underground world! Experience two remarkably distinct landscapes in one single day.
The activity starts in at our office in Lajes. We then drive to Pico's central plateau - a truly awe-inspiring place, with vibrant blue lagoons in striking contrast to lush green hills. We will drive you through beautiful landscapes as we introduce you to the island's volcanic background and explain the origin of this treasure of nature. There will be many stops in important viewpoints and landmarks, including several volcanic lagoons. Plenty of opportunities will be provided to take photos and gaze at our beautiful fauna & flora.
We will then dive into the earth and immerse ourselves into some of our impressive lava tunnels. You will discover and explore the underground world and see the beauty of cave formations such as huge stalactites, underground lava rivers, jagged points and ridges, silky smooth walls and forests growing right inside the caves!
We then begin the very scenic return to our office in Lajes where the adventure comes to an end.
