Explore the unique Furnas Valley on a full-day tour from Ponta Delgada. Admire the breathtaking views from the Santa Iria viewpoint, visit the Gorreana Tea Plantation, and enjoy a traditional lunch cooked in the earth's depths.
Start your day with a visit to the Santa Iria viewpoint and take in the breathtaking panorama of the ocean and the island's northern coast. Continue to the secluded waterfall in Porto Formoso, hidden in a charming park surrounded by lush greenery.
Next, visit the Gorreana Tea Plantation, the only tea plantation in Europe. Learn about the process of tea cultivation and production before heading to the Furnas Lake Fumaroles. Here, like the breath of a volcano, hot gases escape from beneath the earth, and the traditional Azorean dish “Cozido” is cooked directly in volcanic soil.
Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, where you can taste the Cozido, prepared in the earth’s depths. After lunch, stroll through the Terra Nostra Park, filled with unique plants, and enjoy a dip in its famous thermal springs.
