Discover the Templar town of Tomar with a private guide and electric car just for your group. See the UNESCO Convent of Christ and the medieval centre. One fixed price for 1-4 people.
Tomar is about 90 minutes north of Lisbon, and it is the only place in Portugal where the Knights Templar left a whole town rather than a ruin.

We pick you up at your hotel or apartment in Lisbon and drive north together in an electric car. There is no meeting point to find and no minibus stopping at other hotels. The group is only yours: one, two, three or four people, never more.

Every option starts at the Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that grew out of a 12th-century Templar rotunda, the Charola. It is still standing, still round, and probably the strangest room you will step into all week. On the western wall you will find the Chapter Window, the finest example of Manueline stone carving in the country.

Then we walk down into the historic centre: the Church of São João Baptista, the medieval streets, the old Jewish quarter and the Nabão river.

From there, it depends on the option you choose. Tomar Essential brings you back to Lisbon by mid-afternoon. Tomar Classic adds an unhurried lunch at a traditional restaurant with regional wine and free time in town. Tomar & Olive Oil Estate spends the afternoon at a century-old family estate among the olive trees, with a guided tasting of three premium olive oils and a gourmet lunch on the property.

At the end of the day we drive you back to your door in Lisbon.

Because the tour is private, the pace is yours. If the Charola holds you for half an hour, you stay half an hour. If you would rather skip a cloister and sit by the river, we do that. Nobody is counting heads at the exit.

The Convent of Christ has cobblestones, ramps and stairs, and the old town is on a hill. Please let us know in advance if anyone in your group has reduced mobility, and we will adapt the route.
The tour runs in any weather. Most of the visit is indoors.
The pace is flexible: you can spend more time where you like and skip what interests you less.
Only guide and assistance dogs are allowed.
