Discover the beauty of the Scottish Highlands on a day trip from Inverness. Visit the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the fishing port of Mallaig, and the Caledonian Canal.
Set off from Inverness and follow the shoreline of legendary Loch Ness with a photo stop overlooking the ruins of Urquhart Castle. From here, travel south through classic Highland scenery to the Commando Memorial, where wide-open views stretch across the Nevis Range towards Ben Nevis.
Continue to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, a place recognized by many fans as the “Harry Potter Bridge.” Woven into Highland history and set between mountains and lochs, this is where you’ll find the iconic Glenfinnan Monument, built to honor the Jacobite clans. Take in the setting and enjoy the surrounding views.
Then, head on to the west coast and the fishing port of Mallaig. There’s time here to wander the harbor, grab lunch, or sample some fresh local seafood before you begin the scenic return journey.
The route back follows the beautiful Road to the Isles, passing lochs, glens, and ever-changing Highland landscapes. Stop in the village of Fort Augustus to explore the Caledonian Canal and enjoy a walk along the shores of Loch Ness. Your final stop is Dores Beach, a peaceful spot on the loch’s edge, before returning to Inverness in the evening.

The tour involves walking on uneven terrain.
Weather can be unpredictable, so dress accordingly.
Minimum age to travel is 5 years old, while anyone aged 5-17 must be accompanied by an adult.

We advise you to organise transport to the departure point in advance and make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in; late arrivals cannot be refunded and we cannot delay departure.
Return times are approximate and subject to weather/travel conditions - allow at least 3 hours for onward travel or reservations.
Each traveller may bring 1 suitcase (max 33lbs/15kg) and 1 carry-on.
Collapsible wheelchairs are allowed if you are accompanied by someone to assist with boarding.

Meet 15 minutes before departure, across from the Victorian Market, for check-in. Look for a blue or yellow bus.
