Explore York's Viking history on a guided walking tour. Learn about the Great Heathen Army, hear stories of warrior kings, and see how the Viking legacy still echoes in the city today.
Step back in time to 866 AD, when the Great Heathen Army captured York, transforming a quiet Anglo-Saxon settlement into a thriving, international Viking capital. On this deeply researched walking tour, navigate the historic alleys, hidden snickelways, and ancient streets to uncover the incredible 200-year legacy of Norse rule in Northern England.

Forget the horned helmets and Hollywood tropes. Your expert guide will bring the authentic Viking Age vividly to life, sharing the captivating stories of fierce warrior kings like Eric Bloodaxe, master craftsmen, global traders, and everyday families who built a powerful commercial empire. Discover how Jorvik served as a crucial hub in a trade network stretching from Scandinavia across Europe and into the Islamic world.
