Discover the beauty of the Swiss Alps on a 3-day hiking Escape from Zurich. Hike to Oberblegisee Lake, follow the Panorama Trail, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.
Day 0: Arrival in Braunwald
Travel from Zurich Airport to Linthal by train, then take the funicular up to Braunwald. Check in at your accommodation and enjoy an optional short walk through the village or nearby viewpoints.
Day 1: Oberblegisee Lake Hike
Follow trail 307 toward Oberblegisee, enjoying panoramic views along the way and some relaxing time by the lake. Afterward, continue toward Brunnenberg to descend back to the village Braunwald.
Day 2: Panorama Ridge Hike
Starting directly from the Adrenalin Backpackers Hostel, hike up through lush forests and meadows to reach Grotzenbüel. From there, follow the scenic Panorama Trail across high ridges with breathtaking views of the Tödi peak. Continue the loop toward Gumen and descend back to the village via Braunwaldalp, completing the entire mountain circuit on foot.
Day 3: Departure
Return via funicular to Linthal and continue by train to Zurich.
Activity suggestions: On your way back let's visite a Housed in a magnificent 17th-century palace, this museum allows you to wander through ornate rooms while discovering the global impact of the Glarus textile industry and the history of the Battle of Näfels. It offers a unique look into the identity and heritage of the Glarus region.

1. Zurich Airport to Zürich HB
Take any frequent train (S-Bahn or IR) from the airport to Zürich Hauptbahnhof (HB).
Travel time: ~10 minutes.
2. Zürich HB to Linthal Braunwaldbahn
Take the direct S25 (Glarner Sprinter) toward Linthal.
Exit at: "Linthal Braunwaldbahn" (the stop right at the funicular base).
Travel time: ~1 hour 35 minutes.
3. Funicular to Braunwald
Board the Braunwaldbahn (Standseilbahn). It departs every 30 minutes (at :25 and :55 past the hour).
Travel time: ~7 minutes.
4. Arrival at Alpinaweg 3
Braunwald is car-free.
From the mountain station, it is a 2-minute walk (approx. 100 meters).
Head southeast toward the village center to reach Adrenalin.
