Private day trip from Bangkok to the historic city of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Fulfill your experience in culture, history, and cuisine: explore temples and taste delicious local foods
After pickup from your centrally located Bangkok hotel by an air-conditioned minivan, you’ll travel from Bangkok to Ayutthaya, an ancient Thai capital. Your adventure starts at Ayutthaya’s oldest market to taste some delicious local snacks and drinks and learn about the lifestyles of the locals. Then, soak in half-century-hold culture with a visit to the most important temple in the city, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, as well as a visit to the location of an ancient Grand Palace.
Move on to another popular temple, Wat Mahathat, where you can get up close and personal with one of Thailand’s emblematic Buddha heads. Break for more food tastings: enjoy a noodle bowl and famous Thai cotton candy crepes (roti saimai). You’ll also get a chance to see how these foods are prepared. In the afternoon, learn how to do some traditional crafting still practiced in Ayutthaya.
Continue on to explore the last iconic temple, Wat Chai Wattanaram, and take in the afternoon views of the Chao Phraya River. End your adventure in Ayutthaya at a traditional Thai restaurant where you’ll savor a local meal on a rice barge docked on the river, enjoying the local sights and sounds. Exhausted and full, you’ll be escorted back to the City of Angels to your hotel, where your day’s journey will end.

• Unfortunately, it is impossible to accommodate gluten-free or halal diets on this tour.
• What to wear: It is recommended that you wear shorts (covered knees) or light weights pants and a lightweight shirt (covered shoulders), as well as comfortable walking shoes. Some historical sites/temples require respectful clothing for entry.
• The tour takes place rain or shine. We recommend an umbrella and sense of adventure in case the clouds break. Some of our most fun moments have been in the rain!
• As this is in part a food tour, please only eat a very light breakfast before the tour
