Antalya: Turkish Bath w/ Sauna, Scrub, Foam & Oil Massage

Enjoy a traditional Turkish bath experience with a sauna, scrub, foam massage, and oil massage. Benefit from a hotel pick-up and drop off in Antalya Kundu Hotels.
Start with a pick-up from your hotel or apartment in Antalya. A comfortable transfer vehicle takes you to the Hamam. On arrival at the traditional bath, the friendly reception staff will greet you and give you a small talk on the procedure. Then, in the gentle ambience of the reception area, you will be given a Hamam robe and taken to the changing rooms. Turkish hamam staff will provide you with a locker key. You can safely hold your belongings and clothes until you have finished.

After locking your belongings, move to the hot room or steam room, where you will ‘sweat’ out the toxicity from your opening pores. Warm room experience usually lasts around 5 – 10 minutes. Once you have relaxed and sweated in the sauna’s 40 to 50 degrees Celsius, go to the center of the Hamam.

The center of the Turkish hammam is an area of marble slab and seating. The belly stone is where the masseuse scrubs your body, and a massage will take place. Wait until the masseuse calls you to take your place on the marble stones. There are brass water taps, marble basins, and traditional bowls to wash yourself with hot water and cold water. When it is your turn, you will be escorted to the central marble, ready for your scrub.

After you are comfortably placed on the belly stone, your masseuse will scrub you from the roots of your hair to the tips of your toes. Scrubbing will remove the dead skin cells, leaving you feeling invigorated. Your masseuse will then rinse the dead skin from your body, preparing you for your gentle massage.

The foam massage is that stage of your Turkish bath where the masseuse uses what appears to be a large pillow case, foamed and fluffed, ready to wash your new skin cells. First, you are covered in the foam from head to toe (don’t worry, not your face) and massaged lightly. Then the foam is rinsed from your head to toe. By now, you should feel relaxed as you are led to a waiting area for your body to ‘rest’ before your Turkish baths final (and some say best) stage.

When the massage room is ready, go to the last of the hamam spa rooms. After lying comfortably on the massage bed, receive a 20-minute aromatic relaxing massage. Don’t be surprised if you end up falling asleep. Most people do! And if you do, don’t worry. Your masseuse will gently wake you up and return you to the changing area when it is complete.

Once finished, do not shower for at least two hours, giving the oil a chance to penetrate your pores and leave your skin ultra-soft and ready to tan for the rest of your holiday. For this reason, it is suggested that you take a Turkish bath at the start of your Antalya holiday, as the new skin cells will take around two to three weeks before they start to flake, meaning your new tan will last about two weeks longer if you take the Turkish Bath at the start of your holiday.

After getting dressed, return to the reception area, where your transfer will take you back to your hotel or apartment.
