Be the master of your own destiny on the Colorado River in an inflatable kayak! It's a great way to get bigger splashes and a workout in on this calm stretch through Castle Valley.
This paddling trip offers a quick teaser of the scenic beauty and easy rapids of Castle Valley! Our half-day trips give you about 2 hours on the water to take in the incredible beauty of this sandstone paradise.
Meet at the Mild to Wild office to check in and get ready for the river! Your guides will get you fitted for a PFD (aka life jacket) and then hop on the shuttle for a scenic 40 minute drive out to Castle Valley.
Once there, we’ll have a safety orientation and some paddling instruction before you push off with the fleet for the next couple hours. Kayaking trips float with the rafting trips, and the guides will give you instruction as you paddle along.
The kayaks move much faster than the rafts, so on occasion you may have to wait up for them. More time to take in the scenery, we say! This is a very mild rafting trip, with mostly calm flat water with a couple rapid sections sprinkled in along the way.
Once we've reached the take out, we’ll take out and shuttle back to the office for the end of your trip.

This is a more independent trip option that does not come with a kayak guide, but our raft guides will be there to give you instruction when you need help.
This trip is a bit of a workout! The big, beautiful flat water sections will have you paddling most of the time.
The inflatable kayaks sits low in the water, so there will be water in the kayak the whole time. Thus, you’re going to get wet!
If everyone in your group isn’t up for the challenge of an inflatable kayak just yet, they can go along in a raft with a guide at the same time!
· We do not provide snacks on this float trip, so bring some along in a small waterproof bag along with your water bottle.
