Arrive at No. 31 Zhai Alley, Kuanzhai Alley, and scan your e-ticket QR code at the entrance to enter the theater.

2. Seating & Teahouse Atmosphere
Step into the traditional old-style teahouse theater and take your seat very close to the stage. At this moment, you can soak in the authentic leisurely vibe of an old Chengdu teahouse — bamboo chairs, wooden tables, the aroma of covered tea, and the lively buzz of everyday city life all around.

3. Storyteller Introduction
Once seated, a storyteller takes the stage and explains the background, character relationships, and highlights of the day's program in plain and engaging language. This step helps first-time viewers quickly grasp the storyline, so no one feels lost.

4. Folk Music Prelude
A group of female musicians in cheongsam (qipao) takes the stage, playing traditional instruments such as the erhu, pipa, and flute. The melodies are graceful and melodious, featuring classics like Deep Night. This prelude gradually immerses the audience in the artistic atmosphere of traditional Chinese opera. The prelude lasts about 30 minutes.

5. Main Show – Sichuan Opera Excerpts
After the prelude, the main performance begins with classic opera excerpts. The lineup rotates daily, with common pieces including:

Farewell My Concubine — A tragic and poignant love story. The heroine's suicide and the hero's downfall are portrayed through moving arias.

Pijin Rolling the Lamp — A unique comedic clown act in Sichuan opera. The performer balances a burning oil lamp on his head while tumbling and rolling on a wooden bench, all without spilling a drop of oil or extinguishing the flame. His witty Sichuan dialect dialogue keeps the audience roaring with laughter.

The Crossroads — A classic martial arts scene where two fighters battle in pitch darkness, relying entirely on physical movements and gestures to convey tension and action.

6. The Grand Finale – Face-Changing (Bian Lian)
Following the excerpts comes the absolute highlight of the show — Sichuan opera face-changing. The performer steps right in front of the audience, less than a meter away, and switches between dozens of colorful masks in the blink of an eye. The variations are rich and diverse, including White Snake face-changing, Three Kingdoms face-changing, duo face-changing, Zhong Kui marrying off his sister, hidden-dagger face-changing, double-head face-changing, nine-form transformation, and alms-bowl face-changing. Each transformation reveals a shift in the character's inner emotions. The moves are sharp and swift, drawing gasps and thunderous applause from the crowd.

7. Curtain Call & Closing
After all performances, the entire cast takes the stage for a final bow, acknowledging the audience. Guests may slowly exit amid warm applause.
