Embark on a 3-day tour from La Paz to the Uyuni Salt Flats. Bike down the Death Road, visit the Uyuni "train cemetery," and see the famous Dakar Monument.
Embark on a 3-day adventure from La Paz to Uyuni, and back to La Paz. Enjoy a thrilling mountain biking experience on the Death Road, and explore the Salar de Uyuni salt flats on a full-day tour.
On the first day, start your adventure with a mountain biking experience on the Death Road. Ride through the Yungas region, and take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
After your biking adventure, head to the bus office to take your bus from La Paz to Uyuni. Arrive in Uyuni town at 7:30 am and head to the office, located 1 block from the bus station.
On the second day, start your tour at 10:30 am leaving Uyuni town towards the Salar de Uyuni. Visit the Uyuni "train cemetery" to see Bolivia's first locomotives and take amazing photos.
Next, visit the small settlement of Colchani (salt miners' workshops), and see salt crafts and llama and alpaca textile art. Take photos as you sail across the vast white expanse of salt.
Afterwards, visit "Ojos de Agua Salada", a hotel made entirely of salt that is currently used as a museum, the island of the world's flags, and the famous Dakar Monument.
Lunch will be served near "Isla Incahuasi" and then you will have time to take a hike to the top of the island to see giant cacti and rock formations made of petrified coral. From the top, admire the 360º view of the Salar de Uyuni.
Take your time to organize your group to take fun photos of distorted perspective and proportion on the blinding white surface of the salt flat. Afterwards, head to a spacious area to live the unique experience of watching a beautiful sunset over the salt flat with a glass of wine and some chips.
On the third day, head to the bus office at 20:30, because your bus from Uyuni to La Paz leaves at 21:00. Arrive in La Paz City at 6:30 am.
