Afrocaminhos SP is an immersive cultural experience that invites you to discover São Paulo through its Afro-Brazilian heritage.
From Japão-Liberdade to São Bento (Centro Histórico)
This first part of the day is entirely on foot and crosses the historic hearts of São Paulo's black memory.
Now associated with Asian immigration, the neighborhood is home to several important sites of remembrance in the history of the city's black populations. Passing through the streets and monuments of the historic center, the first part of the activity will end at Largo de São Bento, a must-see location for São Paulo's Hip Hop culture.
The lunch break will be taken at a restaurant serving specialties from Bahia State, with an African gastronomic heritage. The chef offers modern cuisine that pays tribute to the products of the land and sea.
Finally, the afternoon will feature a visit to the Afro Brasil Emanoel Araujo Museum, nestled in the heart of Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo's Central Park.
Inaugurated in 2004, the museum is one of the most important institutions in the country. Through a gigantic collection of paintings, sculptures, and documents, it traces the fundamental contribution of African populations to the construction of Brazilian culture, religion, and society.
