Begin your adventure with a convenient hotel pickup and transfer to a local village near Angkor Wat. Start your ride from a peaceful village toward the less-visited backside of Angkor Wat. Starting from this side offers a unique perspective of the temple, fewer crowds, and excellent photo opportunities.
Your guide will introduce the history of the Khmer Empire, the rise of Angkor, its decline, and the development of modern Cambodian civilization. Leave Angkor Wat and enjoy a peaceful ride along the rear moat through quiet jungle trails, away from traffic and tourist crowds.
Continue to a hidden village near Angkor Thom. This area was once used as an elephant settlement before conservation efforts relocated the elephants to protected natural habitats. Stop at a local family home and learn about daily life in the Angkor region. Your hosts will guide you around their property, where you can visit rice fields, frog farms, fish ponds, and vegetable gardens while hearing stories about village life and local traditions.
Continue to the South Gate of Angkor Thom and cycle along peaceful forest roads connecting the ancient gates of the city. Visit Bayon Temple, famous for its 216 smiling stone faces. Your guide will explain the reign of King Jayavarman VII, one of the greatest rulers of the Angkor period.
After Bayon, ride along sandy backroads to the hidden Ghost Gate before entering one of Angkor’s most enjoyable jungle trails. This section offers quiet cycling beneath the forest canopy with very few visitors. Along the way, refill your water before continuing to Thommanon Temple and Ta Keo Temple.
