Aix-en-Provence opens its alleys and squares to you, following in the footsteps of Napoleon and other great figures. Discover the places and stories that put the city at the heart of imperial history.
We'll start at the Sextius Baths, the city's founding site. I'll tell you about the Roman conquest, the strategic role of water, and the birth of the first Roman city in Gaul.
We then enter the old center, through its medieval streets, to reach the Place des Prêcheurs.
We'll continue to the Palais de Justice, a symbol of power and authority.
Finally, we'll head down to the Rotonde, an iconic fountain and the vibrant heart of the modern city. This last stop helps you understand Aix's evolution from a Roman city to an elegant and cultural city.
Throughout the tour, I'll share stories, local legends, and architectural details to make the experience lively, accessible, and memorable.
