Nairobi: Hell's Gate & Crescent Island 2-Day Tour

Discover Hell's Gate National Park and Crescent Island on a 2-day tour from Nairobi. Spot and walk with wildlife, enjoy a boat ride on the lake, and explore the park's gorges and rock formations.
Begin with pickup in Nairobi, then travel to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate National Park, with a break to get views of the Great Rift Valley from a scenic overlook along the way.

Upon arriving in the park, begin a guided bike/walking tour. Watch for beautiful rock formations, herds of Thompson’s gazelle, eland, zebra, giraffes, warthogs, and hartebeest as you ride. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the tour, as Hell’s Gate National Park is home to more than 100 species of birds, including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vultures, and swifts.

Continue on foot into the park’s distinctive gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are sunk into sedimentary rock. Spend the night at Lake Naivasha Resort or Sawela Lodge Naivasha.

Day 2 Crescent Island & Lake Naivasha Boat Ride

After breakfast, proceed for a boat ride on Lake Naivasha as you get to spot more than 300 different bird species. The lake is known for great herds of hippos.

Upon arrival on the island, embark on a walking tour; it is home to various animals, including ostriches, antelopes, zebras, giraffes, and more. Marvel at great groups of pelicans that fill the lake and other types of birds. Afterwards, ride the boat back to the hotel and later on depart for Nairobi.
