From Baku: Candy Cane and Shahdag Mountain Resort Tour

Discover the Candy Cane Mountains, Gachresh Forest, and Shahdag Mountain Resort on a day trip from Baku. Enjoy a traditional lunch and choose from a variety of activities at the resort.
Begin your journey from Baku, heading along the Caspian Sea coast. From the comfort of your transport, catch a view of the famous, mystical Beshbarmag (Five Fingers) Rock—an ancient landmark of the Great Silk Road towering majestically over the semi-desert.

Take a scenic detour into the mountains to witness one of Azerbaijan’s most Instagrammable spots—the Candy Cane Mountains. These stunning hills, with their vibrant pink, white, and gold stripes, look like a landscape from a distant planet. It is the perfect spot for fantastic photos and a short walk.

Continue north and immerse yourself in the refreshing shade of the famous Gachresh Forest. Here, centennial trees intertwine high above, creating an incredible natural green tunnel where the sun barely pierces through the canopy.

Surrounded by this stunning nature, stop for a delicious lunch. Relax and enjoy the authentic flavors of traditional Azerbaijani cuisine in a cozy atmosphere before heading higher into the mountains.

The true highlight and crowning experience of your journey is the modern Shahdag Mountain Resort, located at an altitude of over 1,300 meters. Breathtaking panoramas of the Greater Caucasus Mountains and a massive variety of activities await you here. Depending on your choice, you can take a panoramic cable car ride to the top, ride the thrilling alpine roller coaster, rent ATVs, try archery, or choose from dozens of other exciting attractions available at the resort.
