Join a hunt for the Aurora Borealis in a comfortable van (8 people max.), discover its secrets with an expert guide and warm up around a campfire in the Arctic wilderness!
After 6 years' experience as a guide to the Aurora Borealis in the Arctic, I'd now like to share my knowledge and passion with you, in French.

To admire the Aurora Borealis in the best possible conditions, we need to leave Tromsø's light pollution behind and immerse ourselves in the Arctic wilderness. The direction we take will depend on the evening's weather: clouds can mask the Aurora, so our priority will be to find a clear sky. If necessary, we can even cross the Finnish border!

Once we've found the perfect spot, we'll choose an intimate location, away from other groups and artificial lights. Waiting is part of the experience: the Aurora can appear in a few minutes or after several hours. To make the wait more enjoyable, we'll light a campfire, enjoy snacks and hot chocolate, and I'll reveal all the secrets of this natural spectacle. In winter, temperatures vary between +5°C and -30°C, so I'll provide thermal suits for all participants.

If you have a camera, I'll teach you how to set it up to best capture the Aurora. What's more, I'll be taking professional photos myself, so you'll have an unforgettable souvenir of this magical night.

It's important to remember that nature is unpredictable: on rare occasions, the sky may remain overcast or solar activity may be low. However, even on the most uncertain of nights, a 20-minute break in the weather is enough to create a breathtaking spectacle. Thanks to my knowledge of the local climate and the use of specialized tools, we can maximize our chances of being in the right place at the right time.

The length of the tour will depend on how long it takes to find the ideal conditions. Sometimes it's just a 30-minute drive from Tromsø, while on other nights a real Aurora hunt will be required, exploring a vast area in search of starry skies.

Either way, I promise you an unforgettable adventure!

Although thermal suits adapted to arctic temperatures are provided, it is strongly recommended that you already have basic winter clothing (inner layers).
The Aurora Borealis is a totally unpredictable natural phenomenon. Nights without Aurora are rare, but they do exist. For this reason, it's important to remember that the Aurora can never be 100% guaranteed.
Take your passport with you, in case you need to cross the border into Finland.
