Explore the Salinas Lagoon from Arequipa: high Andean landscapes, flamingos, and vicuñas. Experience the adventure with an ATV tour option and enjoy unique views.
Start your adventure with pick-up from hotels located in the historic center of Arequipa and travel to the stunning landscapes of the Salinas and Aguada Blanca Nature Reserve.
Our first stop will be the Mirador de Volcanes in Chiguata, where you'll enjoy spectacular views of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. We'll continue to the picturesque village of Chiguata to see its traditional square and colonial church, as well as enjoy some free time for breakfast.
As we ascend the Andes, we will cross extensive high Andean pampas, observing the typical flora of the region and unique landscapes at more than 4,200 meters above sea level.
The highlight of the experience will be the impressive Salinas Lagoon. Depending on the season, you can admire its famous natural water mirrors (January to March) or tour the extensive salt pans and salt extraction centers (April to December), perfect settings for unforgettable photographs.
For those looking for an extra dose of adventure, once in Salinas you'll have the option of taking an exciting quad bike (ATV) ride for an additional fee. This activity will allow you to explore the stunning landscapes of the reserve in a different, fun, and adrenaline-packed way, enjoying unique panoramic views of the lagoon and the surrounding volcanoes.
During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat, including Andean flamingos (parihuanas), vicuñas, alpacas, and llamas, making this excursion an ideal experience for nature and photography lovers.
Optionally, you can relax in the hot springs of Las Mariposas before the drop-off.
We will finish the sightseeing tour by returning to Arequipa around 1:30 PM, dropping you off near Plaza de Armas so you can continue exploring the White City.
