Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Arequipa and head to the traditional village of Chiguata. Take a short break to admire the impressive panoramic views of Arequipa’s three main volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu.

Continue your journey for approximately 1.5 hours through beautiful Andean landscapes until you reach the Salinas Lagoon and Salt Flats, located at more than 4,000 meters above sea level.

Depending on the season, the landscape of Salinas changes dramatically. From February to June, the area becomes a beautiful lagoon, attracting numerous migratory birds, especially flamingos, which can be observed feeding and resting in their natural habitat.

From August to December, the water evaporates and the lagoon transforms into a spectacular salt flat, creating an impressive white landscape. Even during this season, it is possible to see flamingos around the remaining water areas.

Explore the area from different viewpoints and locations that are not included in the standard tourist route. Visit the Cacawasi viewpoint, located at approximately 4,300 meters above sea level, where you will enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the Salinas area, surrounded by four volcanoes.

Observe wild vizcachas and vicuñas in their natural environment. After exploring the area, stop in Chilitía for a traditional breakfast before continuing your adventure.

Enjoy a 2-kilometer hike inside the lagoon or salt flats, depending on the season. During this walk, be surrounded by the spectacular Andean landscape, with alpacas, llamas, and flamingos living freely in the area.

As an optional activity, enjoy a relaxing visit to the natural hot springs in the area. Finally, begin your return journey to Arequipa, arriving at approximately 1:00 PM.
