Travel along the famous Ruta del Sol (Sun Route) from Puno to Cusco, visiting amazing places in southern Peru such as Pukara, Raqchi, and Andahuaylillas. A truly unforgettable experience.
We will begin the tour at the previously agreed meeting point, from where the bus will depart.
From this terminal, we will head to the village of Pukara, where we will explore its interpretation centre. This place not only offers valuable insight into the local culture, but is also home to the iconic toritos de Pukara, brightly coloured ceramic figures representing fertility, prosperity and protection in southern Peru.
Continuing along the route, we will arrive at the La Raya pass, located more than 4,300 metres above sea level. There we will make a brief stop to take some photographs of the imposing Andean landscape.
Then, we will take a break to enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant, ideal for recharging our batteries. Later, we will head to the archaeological site of Raqchi, where we will see the remains of the temple dedicated to the god Wiracocha, a central figure in the pre-Hispanic worldview, surrounded by myths and mysteries.
At the end of the visit to Raqchi, we will continue to the town of Andahuaylillas to visit the church of San Pedro Apóstol, known for its impressive Baroque art and considered the ‘Sistine Chapel of America’.
After approximately eleven hours of travel, we will conclude the Ruta del Sol with our arrival in Cusco, where we will drop you off at your hotel located in the historic centre of the city.
