Kilimanjaro: 6-Day Marangu Route Climbing Tour

Embark on a 6-day climbing tour of Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Kibo Summit and Mawenzi small peak.
Embark on a 6-day adventure to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Trek through the rainforest, moorlands, and rocky terrain to reach the Uhuru Peak. Enjoy meals prepared by a chef and stay in huts along the way.

Day 1: Arusha – Marangu Gate – Mandara Huts
Start your adventure with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Drive to Marangu village and Marangu gate for registration. Meet your guides, porters, and chef. Begin your trek to Mandara Huts. Cover a distance of 7 kilometers from Marangu gate to Mandara huts. Pass through the rainforest and see some of the animals like Columbus monkeys and birds. Reach an elevation of 2740 meters above sea level.

Day 2: Mandara Huts – Horombo Huts
After breakfast, continue your trek to Horombo Huts. Cover a distance of 11 kilometers from Mandara Huts to Horombo Huts. Pass through the rainy forest and moorlands with the views of Horombo escarpments. Reach an elevation of 3700 meters above sea level. Enjoy views of the Kibo Summit and Mawenzi small peak views.

Day 3: Horombo Huts
Spend the day acclimatizing with a circuit walk from Horombo Huts, Mawenzi, and Kibo peaks back to Horombo Huts. Prepare for a higher altitude and get used to the current altitude.

Day 4: Horombo Huts – Kibo Huts
After breakfast, continue your trek to Kibo Huts. Cover a distance of 10 kilometers from Horombo to Kibo huts. Ascend and descend the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo summit.

Day 5: Kibo Huts – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Huts
Start your climb for 4 kilometers up to the summit point. Arrive at the peak of 5895 meters before sunrise. Enjoy thrilling views from all directions, celebrate, and take great pictures. Later, descend a total of 14 kilometers down to Horombo huts.

Day 6: Horombo Huts – Marangu Gate – Arusha
Descend the final part of the route. Walk through the moorlands and rainy forest. Arrive at Marangu gate to receive your certificate of climbing achievement. Meet your driver and transfer back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.
