Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. Head to Materuni Village, one of the few villages of wonder in Northern Tanzania, sitting at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. The village is blessed with all the beauty worth visiting for a holiday, weekend outing, or vacation.

While in the village, take in the scenic view of Moshi Town and Mount Kilimanjaro. This green village with fresh air from green vegetation welcomes visitors to explore the beauty of the land and cultural heritage of the Chagga people.

Pass through coffee and banana plantations and have the chance to meet a variety of primates, including black and white colobus monkeys. Learn about the local people and traditions of the Chagga people. Enjoy the nature of the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and learn about different flowers.

Hike to the base of the Waterfall, which is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal-clear glacier water 70 meters into its basin. The beautiful path leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2500 meters above sea level. It crosses valleys and hills covered by tropical rainforest, past coffee, banana, and avocado “shambas,” the Kiswahili word for farms.

On a clear day, enjoy a great view of Kibo and Moshi town. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding, and hiking boots are recommended. Visit the waterfalls, get an explanation, and enjoy swimming if you like.

Hike up to the boundary of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park at 2400 meters. Learn how to make local coffee and drink your own made coffee. Enjoy the best viewpoint for the snow peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro if it is not covered by clouds.
