Discover Uganda on a 6-day overland loop tour from Kampala. Visit the Source of the Nile, hike to Sipi Falls, explore Kidepo Valley National Park, and track rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Day 1: Kampala/Entebbe to Sipi Falls via the Source of the Nile

Begin with an early departure from Kampala or Entebbe to beat the traffic. Stop in Jinja for a refreshing morning boat cruise to the Source of the Nile. Drive past Mbale and ascend the slopes of Mount Elgon. Arrive at Sipi Falls and catch a beautiful sunset over the plains.

Day 2: Sipi Falls Hike and Drive to Moroto (Karamoja)

Start the day with a guided trek to the spectacular Sipi Waterfalls, focusing on the main 100-meter drop and a local coffee-making experience. Leave the lush hills behind and drive north into the rugged, beautiful plains of Karamoja, passing through Pian Upe wildlife reserve territory. Arrive in Moroto town at the foot of Mt. Moroto.

Day 3: Karamojong Manyatta Experience and Drive to Kidepo Valley

Immerse yourself in the Nomadic Pastoralist culture with a visit to a traditional Manyatta (homestead). Experience their unique cattle-keeping lifestyle, traditional dancing, and crafts. Drive north through Kotido and Kaabong, enjoying the scenery with massive rock inselbergs and distant mountain ranges. Enter Kidepo Valley National Park through the Lokumoit Gate and enjoy a late afternoon game drive into the Narus Valley.

Day 4: Full Day Game Viewing in Kidepo Valley National Park

Explore the Narus Valley, famous for having the highest concentration of buffaloes in Africa, alongside lions, leopards, giraffes, and elephants. Drive toward the South Sudan border to see the Kidepo River sand bed and the Kanangorok Hot Springs, a great area for spotting ostriches and Secretary birds. End the day with a sunset game drive or campfire relaxation at your lodge.

Day 5: Kidepo Valley to Gulu/Chobe Region

Enjoy one last sunrise game drive in Kidepo to catch early morning predators on the hunt. Say goodbye to Kidepo and drive southwest through Kitgum and into Gulu. The roads are fully paved and smooth from Kitgum onwards. Overnight in Gulu or push slightly further south to a lodge near the Karuma/Chobe sector of Murchison Falls to position yourself perfectly for the final day.

Day 6: Return to Kampala/Entebbe via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Depart your overnight stop and drive south along the main Gulu-Kampala highway. Break up the drive with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a 1.5 to 2-hour on-foot Rhino tracking experience. Complete the final stretch back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport.
