This 12-days adventure offers a unique opportunity to explore the historical & Natural wonders of Northern Ethiopia,from ancient sites to breathtaking mountains vistas.
Day 1:Arrival in Addis Abeba in the early morning.You'll be transferred to your hotel where you can relax & unwind. Opt for a half-day city tour to get your first taste of Ethiopian,Spend the night in Addis Abeba to prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Flight to Gondar & Trek to Sankaber (3200 m)
After breakfast,catch a morning flight to Gondar. Upon landing,you'll meet with our guide & driver & head straight to the Simien Mountains National Park.The drive itself offers a preview of the stunning landscapes you're about to explore. After reaching a view point called Chilquanit , commence a 4-hour trek to Sankaber,your first campsite.This moderate hike is an excellent way to acclimate to the altitude. Along the way, encounter diverse plant & bird species,as well as troops of Gelada monkeys.The evening offers a chance to enjoy the sunset & wildlife around the camp. Overnight camping at Sankaber.
Day 3: Trek to Gich Camp (3600 m absl)
Start your day with breakfast & a trek following the escarpment's edge Jinbar River, where you can admire a large Jinbar waterfall. The day ends at Geech camp,where you'll camp overnight after a 5-7 hour trek. Enjoy another stunning sunset at the views of Kedadit before dinner.
Day 4: Trek to Mt. Imetgogo & Back
After breakfast,Explore on a 5-6 hour excursion to Mt. Imetgogo,offering one of the best panoramic views in the Simien Mountains National Park. Enjoy a picnic at Seha Valley before trekking back to Gich Camp for the night.
Day 5: Trek to Chenek Camp via Mt. Inatye
The day begins with a trek to Chenek Camp via Mt. Inatye 4070m absl.This route is known for wildlife sightings.After a picnic lunch,enjoy breathtaking views from the Enatye escarpment before descending to Chenek Camp,where you might spot the endemic Walia Ibex.
Day 6: Trek to Ambiquo Camp via Mt. Buhit 4430m absl
Start the day with a challenging climb up 800ms Mt. Buhit before descending towards Chero Laba & crossing the Mesheha River.Camp at Ambiquo to rest before the significant trek to Ras Dejen.
Day 7: Summit Mt. Ras Dejen 4543m absl & Return to Ambiquo
An early start leads to the trek's climax: summiting Mt. Ras Dejen.After reaching the peak & enjoying the views,descend back to Ambiquo for another night of camping.
Day 8: from Ambiko trek back to Chenek & Drive Back to Gondar
Day 9: Gondar City Tour & Drive to Bahidar
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast & a city tour of Gondar before heading to Bahidar in the afternoon. Explore the city's historical sites, including palaces & churches.
Day 10: Explore Bahidar
Visit Lake Tana's monasteries by boat & the Blue Nile Falls in the afternoon.
Day 11: Drive to Lalibela
After breakfast,drive to Lalibela to visit its famous rock-hewn churches. Spend the afternoon exploring these UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Day 12: Lalibela to Addis Ababa
Visit the remaining churches in the morning, then catch an afternoon flight back to Addis Ababa. The tour concludes with a farewell dinner featuring traditional Ethiopian music
