Begin your day with a visit to the Longji Rice Terraces, a vast cluster of terraced fields in the Guilin area. Admire the cascading curves that create a breathtaking spectacle. Discover several ancient villages of ethnic minorities, including the Zhuang and Yao, nestled in the area.
Hike through the terraces, take in the stunning views, and capture memorable photos. Sample local farm-style cuisine at your own expense. Explore the Jinkeng Rice Terraces, located in Dazhai Village within the Longji Rice Terraces scenic area. Enjoy a more pristine and expansive landscape compared to the Ping'an Zhuang Rice Terraces, with excellent sunrise and sunset viewpoints.
In the afternoon, visit Huangluo Yao Village, the only Yao village among the thirteen villages of Longji, inhabited entirely by the Red Yao ethnic group. Learn about the long-standing tradition of Red Yao women growing their hair long. Of the 60 households in the village, 60 women have hair exceeding one meter in length, with the longest reaching 1.7 meters. Their long hair is always coiled on their heads, earning the village the Guinness World Record for the longest group of hair. Optionally, enjoy the Huangluo Yao Village Long Hair Song and Dance Performance (fee not included, 80 RMB/person, payable separately).
