Beschreibung

Visit Lake Toya, Japan's northernmost lake which never freezes, and the volcanic crater of Noboribetsu Hell Valley, filled with hissing steam vents and bubbling sulphurous streams in a day.
Noboribetsu Hell Valley (Jigokudani)
This is one of Hokkaido’s most iconic volcanic geothermal sites and the source of Noboribetsu Onsen. It is known for its 'hellish' landscape, where no vegetation grows and smoke billows while the smell of sulphur hangs in the air. The crater is approximately 450 metres in diameter and was formed by the eruption of Mt. Hiyori. The valley is filled with countless fumaroles, from which high-temperature gases and hot springs emit. This desolate landscape evokes images of hell, which is why it is called 'Jigokudani' (Hell Valley).

Mt. Usu Ropeway
Mt. Usu is one of the world’s most active volcanoes, with four eruptions observed during the 20th century alone. Here, you can experience the volcano's geological wonders, enjoy panoramic views of the lake and mountains, and see the remains of eruptions up close.

Showa Shinzan Bear Park
The brown bear is the largest wild mammal in Hokkaido. At the Showa Shinzan Bear Park, you can feed the bears. When they see food, they stand up and wave at tourists, showing off their charming side. You may find that they are truly adorable in the park.

(Please note that we can only choose one between Usuzan Ropeway, Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch and Shōwa-shinzan)

Lake Toya
Lake Toya is Japan’s northernmost lake that never freezes; here, you can find crystal-clear waters even in winter. There are many hot spring inns along the lakeshore where you can enjoy 'yukimi onsen' (hot springs with a view of the snow). There are free foot and hand baths dotted throughout the town.

Mount Yotei
In Hokkaido, Mount Yotei bears a striking resemblance to Mount Fuji and is therefore also known as 'Ezo Fuji'. Ezo is the old name for Hokkaido, while Mount Fuji is Japan's most famous mountain. Take a look at its shape – it basically looks like a slightly smaller version of Mount Fuji.
