Discover the Palmeraie of Tiout, a well-known place in the region that was immortalized in the cinema during the filming of the 1952 film "Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves." In the poster appeared the famous French actor Fernandel.
Meet your guide and set off on a journey to the Palmeraie of Tiout. Still used with agricultural techniques, it allows you to cross olive groves, a savannah of Argan trees, whose fruit bean is pressed to extract the oil, as well as small plots while sometimes benefiting from the shade of a few palm trees.
Tiout, a small village 30 km from Taroudante, is perched on a peak in the Anti-Atlas and overlooks a magnificent palm grove. 3,000 inhabitants live around this oasis of greenery and live from goat breeding and garden cultivation.
Irrigated by water sources, the secret of the existence of this extraordinary contrast between vegetation and aridity. Donkey rides are offered there and an excellent Chicken Tagine with Lemon and Olives.
