A two-and-a-half-hour tour of a working banana plantation in Tazacorte, La Palma. Includes an explanation of the cultivation process and the history of bananas on the island, a gourmet tasting of local products, and scenic spots for photos.
Since it is a working plantation, you will see the crop in its authentic state, observing the natural growth cycles and the daily farm work involved.
We walk among the banana plants along a comfortable, well-prepared path. Along the way, we explain how the plants grow, how long it takes for them to bear fruit, why Canary Island bananas taste unique, and the effort required to produce each bunch. You get an insider’s look at the plantation and the agricultural landscape surrounding Tazacorte.
There is also time to explore aspects that aren't immediately visible: the history of bananas on the island, interesting facts, and the traditions passed down through the families who make their living from this crop.
Afterward, we sit down to taste local products—because to truly understand the banana, you have to taste it. There is no rush; there are designated spots to pause, take photos, and capture memories, as well as a rest area nestled in the greenery. Children have their own space to create a handmade souvenir to take home.
We intentionally keep groups small so that everyone has the chance to ask questions, touch the plants, and sample the produce. Explanations are provided in both Spanish, English and German.
It is a refreshing alternative to standard excursions. Instead of just seeing the island in passing, you experience it from within a working plantation.

Wear comfortable, closed-toe footwear, as the ground on the property consists of soil and leaf litter. In summer, bring a cap or hat and some water. We provide everything else.
Finca Amor Platánico is located in Tazacorte, on the west coast of the island of La Palma. It is about a 40-minute drive from Santa Cruz de La Palma and about 10 minutes from Los Llanos de Aridane. There is free parking and an accessible restroom near the entrance.
