Book an unforgettable kayaking experience in the backwaters of the Sal River, perfect for solo travellers, couples, and families. Explore Goa in a new way with a small group as you observe birds and meander through lotus ponds.
Set off on an unforgettable kayaking adventure suitable for all ages through River Sal's backwaters. Navigate the narrow waterways and follow your trained guides through deep mangroves. Paddle through lotus ponds and admire the red and white flowers, when in season, as well as other Goan flora. Enjoy a small-group experience for up to 14 people, and choose between 70-minute or 2-hour kayaking excursions.
Meet your guides and other participants at the meeting point. Following a brief introduction, receive a briefing and instructions on the kayaking experience. After clarifying your questions, make yourself comfortable in the kayak, then set off over the water with two trained instructors to ensure each participant's safety.
As you silently weave your way along the waterways, keep your eyes out for migratory birds. This area has more than 70 different types of birds, including kingfishers, cormorants, egrets, herons, and black-headed ibis. If you're lucky, also spot otters frolicking and feeding in the early morning and late evenings.
For a part of the trip, you'll even kayak in the tall grasses. Slowly glide under the overhangs of mango, cashew, bamboo, and the overpowering mangroves, which are otherwise inaccessible. Stop in the shade of a mango grove to relax and take in the surroundings. At the end of the tour, return to the original departing point.
The kayaking route follows the coastal waterways, passing fishing villages and offering a unique glimpse of the locals' way of life. Trips are dependent on tide times and usually cover a distance of 5-6 kilometers (3.1-3.7 miles). High buoyancy kayaks and life vests are provided, in accordance with international safety norms.

• This experience only operates between November-April
• Please note that the tour cannot be canceled. However, if you make a request at least 12 hours prior to the start time, you can reschedule the activity
• This experience is not recommended for pregnant women (in the second or third trimester of pregnancy) and people with limited mobility
• Children below 5 years of age are not allowed on this activity. All children must be accompanied by at least one adult parent/guardian. There is no maximum age limit for this activity
• Please provide the height and weight details of all guests at the time of booking so that the correct equipment is provided on the day. The maximum weight on a kayak is 124 kilograms (273 pounds)
• An additional cost of INR 2000 is applicable per person for individuals weighing more than 100 kilograms (220 pounds), as different kayaks need to be arranged in advance. This amount can be paid directly in cash on the day of the experience
The meeting point is Waters Edge Restaurant in Dongorim, Nuvem, Goa.
Guests coming by cab can also look for the landmark of the Tata Motors Car Showroom on NH17 at Nuvem, near Margao. The restaurant is approximately 300 metres from this landmark.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
Cancellation is not possible. If you cancel it anyway or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity and the money you paid will not be refunded.
