Discover the beauty of Kerala on a 7-day private tour. Explore Kochi, Munnar, Periyar, Alleppey, and Kumarakom. Enjoy a houseboat stay, wildlife sightings, and cultural experiences.
Day 1: Arrive in Kochi
Arrive at Cochin International Airport and be greeted by your driver. Transfer to your hotel in Kochi, a coastal city rich in colonial history and spice trade legacy. Settle in and relax—tomorrow, the adventure begins.
Day 2: Kochi Sightseeing – Drive to Munnar (130 km / 4 hrs)
After breakfast, explore Fort Kochi’s colonial charm—quaint cafés, vibrant street art, and heritage buildings. Visit the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets and stroll to St. Francis Church, India’s oldest European church. Continue to Mattancherry Palace, known for its Kerala murals and Indo-Dutch architecture. End your tour in Jew Town, where antique shops and spice markets fill the air with cardamom and cinnamon.
Attend a Kathakali dance performance in the evening. Later, drive to Munnar, watching the landscape shift from coastal plains to misty hills and tea gardens.
Day 3: Munnar Sightseeing – Drive to Periyar (110 km / 3.5 hrs)
Begin with a walk through lush tea plantations, followed by a visit to the Tea Museum to learn the journey from leaf to cup. Taste freshly brewed varieties and explore vintage tea-making equipment. Continue to Echo Point, where the hills playfully return your voice. By afternoon, drive to Periyar, descending through spice gardens and forested valleys.
Day 4: Periyar Exploration
After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride on Periyar Lake, surrounded by dense forests and wildlife. Spot elephants, deer, and vibrant birdlife. Later, visit a spice plantation to learn about Kerala’s famed cardamom, pepper, and cinnamon. Witness a Kalaripayattu martial arts performance in the evening.
Day 5: Periyar – Alleppey Houseboat (130 km / 3.5 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Alleppey, Kerala’s backwater haven. En route, stop at a rubber plantation to observe traditional latex tapping. On arrival, board your private houseboat—a traditional Kettuvallam with modern comforts. Cruise through tranquil canals and lakes, watching village life unfold: fishermen casting nets, children waving, and women washing clothes along the banks. Enjoy a freshly cooked Keralite lunch onboard and relax on the sundeck as the golden sunset reflects across the water.
Day 6: Alleppey – Kumarakom (35 km / 1 hr)
Wake to the gentle rhythm of the backwaters. After breakfast, disembark and drive to Kumarakom, a peaceful village on Vembanad Lake. Check into your lakeside resort and visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, home to herons, cormorants, and migratory storks. Visit the Bay Island Driftwood Museum or enjoy a village walk through paddy fields. An Ayurvedic massage by the lake offers perfect relaxation.
Day 7: Kumarakom – Kochi & Departure (50 km / 1.5 hrs)
Enjoy a relaxed morning—perhaps a canoe ride or fresh coconut water by the lake. Later, drive to Kochi for your onward journey. Time permitting, explore Santa Cruz Basilica or shop for spices and souvenirs in Jew Town. Transfer to Cochin Airport with cherished memories of Kerala’s hills, wildlife, and backwaters.
